Do they look at HS transcripts?

Does UCLA and UCB look at high school transcripts? I hear many different stories. Some say they look at it upon admittance. Please help ! X)

2nd question... I was expelled and got a GED from high school. does this effect my chances as UC transfer student x(

They do look at your high school transcripts but it has no bearing on your admission. However I do not know if being expelled from high school will hurt your chances.

Dont worry about high school man. I got expelled myself and went to a continuation school. I have been accepted to every cal state in socal and have also been accepted to UCR and UCD. UCSB and UCI have not gotten back to me but i think i will get in to atleast one of them. High school was high school, forget about it. I talked to UCLA reps a few months back and they told me that they dont care about your past. All they care about is your GPA at your community college

If you are a lower division transfer student, less than 60 semester (90 quarter) units, we will require your High School records for admissions.
If you are an upper division transfer student, 60 semester (90 quarter) units or more, we will not require your high school records for your admissions decision. If you are admitted most likely the UC campus will require a high school record be submitted for graduation requirement purposes.

Getting expelled won't matter because they do not look at HS transcript, which means they will never know if you got expelled!

However, the GEd, you do have to post on the app, so it might effect your chances. Anyone else wanna comment on this second problem?

If you are an upper division transfer student, 60 semester (90 quarter) units or more, the type of high school degree or equivalent will have no effect on your admissions.

skooskoo... GED will not effect admissions decisions. I had a GED and still got into Berkeley.

Yes they do ask for a copies of all transcripts, but that is way after decisions are made and you have submitted your SIR. As long as you were honest on your application, there will be no cause for rescinded admission offers.
