I’m a applying to Penn as a transfer student this year and was wondering if Penn recalculates High School GPAs. This might have already been answered somewhere, but I would just like to know…

They do not recalculate high school GPA's.

what do they base it off then? Rank?

Also, when you apply, do you need to send in a school profile sheet that may explain the tpte of courses it offers and such.

Transfer applicants are judged primarily on their success in college courses. High school transcripts will play a small to nonexistant role in the admissions process (unless you apply as a sophomore transfer, in which case they will be more important). Along with the dean's report, your school will probably send Penn a profile including information such as the courses it offers. It is not your responsibility to provide this information.

I am in fact applying for sophmore transfer admission (freshman now), so approximately how much weight does the high school transcript carry compared to college? Is it 50/50?
