Is wrong info appreciated?

someone send this guy a tube...

I always thought getting tubed was a bad thing.

Big, fat, wonderful envelopes await the Regular Action folks (like me last year).

I actually talked to Ben about this (and I will try to mention this on the blogs when I get the chance), but there are two reasons RA action admits don't get tubes. One is, basically, the cost. The second and (in my opinion) more important one is that a lot of the actual "admissions" materials aren't ready to be sent out when EA decisions are released, so there simply isn't enough stuff to make a big envelope for EA. Instead, Ben and the rest of the Admissions office got clever and came up with the idea of the Tube so that EA kids still got something cool in the mail, even if it wasn't a traditional "big envelope.

But we RD kids would still love an MIT poster like the EA-ers get.

Does anything fun come with the fat envelope other than an official acceptance letter and possibly a financial aid package?

yea paul...what about the poster? :-(. haha...we just get greedier and greedier eh?

If I remember correctly 2-3 years ago, there was huge controversy / consternation at MIT because accepted students received a Tube and rejected students received.............. NOTHING at all, for nearly week, because someone forgot to mail the reject letters. It was ugly!

when are the big envelopes mailed out? if they were mailed out on saturday i should be getting it pretty soon since i'm in the NE....

I have been assured that there may yet be a surprise for RA people in their big envelopes...I can't and won't say anything more than that. If I turn out to be wrong, forget I said it.

(I didn't get a poster either, so don't feel too bad.)

aznfishy: Hopefully soon! In my experience the post office can be kind of random about these things, but time will tell.

we at least get the 10% off at the coop right?

Re: collegealum314

You got it all wrong bro. Someone needs to send him an Internet through a tube.

No tube for me! And no poster either. But I got that coupon thing!

For RD accepted people, should our envelopes have arrived yet (in IL)?

I hope my mailman didn't eat mine (like (s)he did with my Caltech acceptance packet... -_-).

I haven't gotten mine yet...

OMG TINTIN!! my mailman ate my EA caltech defer letter...which somehow randomly showed up 3 weeks later in a fairly wore out envelop...I hope my MIT acceptance letter have a better fate

i didnt get my mit package yet & i'm in nj so relatively close to mit...

aznfishy, I live in the same town as you and I got mine yesterday. Maybe they just don't like you. =P

... I just had the strangest image of a mailman gulping down half of the MIT tube...
