Do transfer student's have their placement tests transfer over too?

I am currently at UCR and want to take calculus. I can't because I didn't do well on my placement, though I am well versed in math. As a freshman I didn't really care, and didn't do so well.
If I come to UCB as a transfer, will I also be limited in the Math I can take?
Do I have to take it at a Community College to bypass the restriction?

I don’t think there are many restrictions on math classes (might be wrong though).
You can sign up for whatever math class you want - undergraduate, graduate, honors, etc - except for the ones that you’d expect to have some limitations (honors thesis, independent study, professional, etc).

Though, you might have to take a lower-level course if the major you are going for requires you take one. For example, you probably can’t use Math 202a in the place of Math 1a and you would probably have to take Math 1a (calculus) even if you took 202a (graduate analysis & topology). However, you can indeed enroll in and finish math 202a without ever taking math 1a.

awesome! I did talk to staff at UCR and there is no way to get around it. They continue to baby us and milk the money out of us. Man I love berkeley

The Berkeley math department has an advisory placement exam for students who have not had calculus but want to take a calculus course. However, it is not a mandatory prerequisite; most courses’ prerequisites are not enforced at registration time* (so it will be your own fault if you take a course without sufficient prerequisite preparation and fail).

*A few courses which are heavily impacted do have prerequisites enforced by the instructors.
