I did the scoring on the UCSD comprehensive review chart n i was way over the cut off points last year (being negative already). I was wondering how accurate that chart is</p>

2682 for SATs
500 more than 40 college prep courses
150 less than 60k income
150 dad went to 2 year college
250 at least cuz i had a trauma that affected my study
Total about 7500 already (cut off points only 7465 last year)</p>
<p>that doesnt include taking SAT prep class in 11th grade lol, n i was chess city champion in Saigon vietnam(almost played international if didnt immigrate here) (so 250 for talent? itz b4 high school though)
I also got CA golden state exam: high honor, honor n recog... so any point?</p>

<p>Casper, the whole UCSD thing is confusing. To go by the list, there should be a lot of exceptions to the average GPA and SAT. But how many can there be after all the athletes? Both your GPA and SAT are low for SD. Yet you seem to have some special circumstances. I think we'll all be anxious to see how this one works out. Good luck!</p>
<p>according to the comprehensive review...half applicants got in for high scores, gpa...the other half is for ppl who have low gpa n test scores but get a lot of points for personal xperience...so yea i hope i'm the 2nd half lol.</p>
<p>oh nvm, i think the half half thing is only up until 2001, after 2001 they changed it to comprehensive review (the chart). I hope the chart is rite :)
Itz not 2 unfair, since 77% of the points in that chart constitute of GPA n test scores.</p>
