Do UCs care if parent is an alumni?

My dad is an alumni of UCB and I didnt see any where on the app where you can put that kind of info, so I am guessing they dont really care. Any input?

they don't care whatsoever. (and my dad graduated from UCSD and grandmother from UCB).

No, legacy status is not considered.

but u shouldve put it on the "other information" box. my dads a cal alumni, and they sent alumni stuff to my dad when i got accepted.

I believe that legacy used to matter once a long time ago. However, I think back in the '70's it was eliminated due to outcries about UC being a public & all. Legacy is no longer considered, which is why you don't see it on the app.

Doesn't matter in the slightest.

Nope, they won't care even if your dad is the chancellor of a UC.

but theyll still treat you like a legacy IF u get admitted ;)

my dad got mail from berkeley saying how proud they were that i got into cal and could be just like my dad haha
