Do UC's care if you show interest in their school?

i always hear about how it’s a plus for colleges if you show interest, like for example tours and stuff or calling them. i mainly hear this about private schools.

i was wondering if this applies to UCs as well? let’s say i go on tours for cal or UCLA, will they see it when looking at my app & take it as me being interested? and i herad somewhere that if you call the admissions office, they record your name or something. i heard about that in some ivy league thing, i don’t know about UC’s.

can anyone confirm this?

Showing interest has no impact on admissions for the UC's

lol, not at all.

Unfortunately they don't care if it's your dream school, they'll admit someone who applied without any intention of going instead because they have higher scores than you ;).

What I heard a college workshop person say is, if you mention some notable faculty or people in the school right now, they might take notice since it demonstrates at least some commitment, but nowhere in the 15page long thing illustrating comprehensive review does it give recognition of it.

damn. hahaha :(

thanks guys :D

Peppers,

That person is, unfortunately, completely wrong.
