which gpa do UC's look at when admitting students, the regular unweighted gpa or the UC gpa. I had a 3.55 unweighted but after talking to a counseler, he said that my UC gpa was a 3.8. is this good, and do i have a sho for colleges at berkely or LA.

UCs calculate your GPA using the grades that you received in a-g courses between the end of your freshman year and the start of your senior year. Competitive UCs like Berkeley and UCLA look at both unweighted and fully weighted GPA (extra grade point for every UC-approved Honors, AP, IB, and community college course you took from the end of freshman year to the start of senior year). Other UCs may cap the weighted GPA at 8 semesters of UC-approved Honors, AP, IB, and community college course or a specific GPA (4.4 or 4.5).
