Im currently a sophomore and want to transfer for junior year. But currently im at a 3.1 which includes a D in a geography class. Im retaking that class this semester, but since applications are due in november, will they not even see the new grades?

You submit an update in January, that has your Fall grades.

For Winter/Spring grades, after acceptance you’ll receive terms and conditions stating the requirements… like no grades in [list of classes] below a C, keep a 3.0+ overall, etc. (These are different for each school, but they’ll expect you to not tank.)

You submit an update in January - the TAU - in which you report your fall grades and any changes to your planned schedule for the following spring and summer. Your fall grades will be looked at. :)

but they still review the applications before we submit fall grades right? Im worried they will look at my app and basically throw it out because of the 3.1 gpa and the D in geog.

I’m pretty sure they don’t start reviewing transfer apps in January. Or at least, they do wait for your fall grades.

There’s no way I would have gotten in without fall grades. I had a sub-3 before the Fall update.

Thanks for the info! What was your gpa before and after fall grades? Also, do you know why they require applications by the end of november even though they review in january?
