<p>No. Otherwise they’d have to send out hundreds of thousands of such letters, and they have not the personnel to do that. The vast majority of accepted students do not also get likely letters.</p>
<p>Of course not. Likely letters are MUCH rarer than admission letters.</p>
<p>If you do a search on “likely letter” you’ll find out how they are used</p>
<p>Here’s the logic:</p>
<p>If you get a likely letter, you’re in. But NOT getting a likely letter doesn’t necessarily mean you are rejected.</p>
<p>I had never even heard of a likely letter until recently, here on CC. Three years ago my D did not receive anything you could call a likely letter, and she was admitted to 5 of her 6 schools.</p>
