I'm applying to UCLA as a Religious Studies major, mexican, 3.38 gpa, TONS of work and volunteer experience in the field. Even though I don't have the best gpa, do I have a better chance of getting in because my major isn't impacted (Biology, Psychology, Pre-Business etc)?

short answer, yes.

but cc students will still get priority over a uc to uc transfer (your username)

Will you finish your pre-reqs by Spring? If so, I say you have a decent shot even though you’re UC to UC.

one course in introduction to history of religion
one course in introduction to philosophy of religion
two courses selected from:
introduction to Buddhism
sociocultural anthropology
Western civilization
introduction to civilizations of Africa
history of China, Japan, India, or the Near and Middle East

Thanks SMCguy, and yes I would have already finished my prerequisites by Spring quarter.

Does the pope wear a funny hat?

hahahaha is unpacted a word? but yeah there was this one girl in my class who is a religious studies major! shes awesome.

By funny hat do you mean mitre?

I’m not sure if it is a word, but for the purpose of this thread, I think its definition is obvious :)
