Do wait-listed students also receive an estimated financial package?

Carnegie Mellon does this so does Notre Dame do this too?

not sure if this is still the process, but my daughter was waitlisted at ND a few years ago. There was no financial aid info in the waitlist letter, when they called her to let her know she was admitted she was sent an aid letter asap and had a few days after we received it to decide

Soccer mom,
What size envelope does the wait list decision come in? A small one like the rejection?

I can confirm that what soccermomof4 says was still the process last year for the class of 2016. Our daughter was waitlisted and when she was called to say she was accepted to ND they told her they would overnight the financial aid package, it arrived the next day. We did not receive any financial aid information when she was on the waitlist. For those of you who do get waitlisted, hang in there–if it is meant to be it will happen (and make sure your admissions counselor is aware of your interest and any substantive changes to your activities, leadership, service etc)

No, they don’t! I was waitlisted last year and eventually admitted. Once you are admitted off the wait list, they overnight you your acceptance package. Mine didn’t have my financial aid info because we found out we were missing a form. We ended up getting the night before I had to get back to them with an answer (kinda scary)! But don’t worry, they still give you a fair aid package even if you are wait listed!

The wait list letter came in a small envelope last year. Acceptance letter is a big beautiful envelope/package. Good luck all!!!

When you wait listed, did you receive your decision in a small envelope like the rejection one?

Sorry momofnewND, didn’t see your post.thanks!

yes, was the same here, small envelope for wait list, if you do get waitlisted I definitley agree with previous post–submit anything more that has happened since you finished your app that might help, send additional recommendations, my daughter also wrote a letter to the admissions rep and kept in touch with him through email. She got a late night phone call from the admissions office a few days after confirmation acceptances were due to let her know she was in off the wait list. Fingers crossed here for all those hoping to get in!!! Don’t give up if you do get waitlisted and if it doesn’t work out how you hope there are many great colleges out there!
