Do we all have the same brain?

Of course people think differently, but what I am saying is this:

What if all our brains are alike. We can all be smart. Let's say geniuses like Albert Einstein had the same brain as you and me, but he just saw things differently which led to ground breaking discoveries.

What if genius is really taking the path less (or sometimes never) traveled. What if inherited genius is really inherited views on life.

oH AND inb4 people post b4 reading the entire thing.

I think a good part of brain development has to do with “inherited views on life” as you said. Statistics have shown that white kids from well-to-do families generally score higher than dirt-poor kids from the city. So I guess the opportunities you have for educational enrichment might have an effect on that.

But remember, dirt poor kids cannot afford tutors and expensive classes like the well-to-do families or millions of prep books.

Exactly. For better or for worse, maybe that’s a reason their brains do not develop in similar ways.

Actually, we don’t have the same brains. That is obvious. Some people (Ashkenazy jews) have inherited characteristics that make them brilliant – they also make them more susceptible to certain mental illnesses and cancers. Intellectual firepower derives from how your brain is “wired,” and this has a great deal to due with simple inheritance. Nurture helps, later, but the basics are there at birth.

Gosh I hope not. I just called my friend an idiot over the phone.

@Kelly

What I am saying is are those characteristics just different views that make them brilliant? Or is it something tangible.

What I am saying is do we all have the same blank canvas and we all paint them differently, some ways better than others. Or do some start with full color on theirs.

I found this

Might better explain where I am coming from.

@madogmgd: you’d be really interested in this book I just read, “The Genius in All of Us”. It pretty much covers this entire topic, and it’s really interesting! ^o^

Though I wouldn’t touch such topics, reading all the above comments has encouraged me to type in my two cents worth of opinions here (:

I believe that everyone has the same brain. Everyone has the same potential and capabilities. Then why does everyone differ? It is because of:

As you can imagine, all three factors can differ extensively. And these are what I believe, things that differentiate brains.

Hope I made sense (:

@Rayna, that sounds interesting. I’ll see if the library has it or amazon has it for cheap…Or maybe i’ll “Jack Sparrow” it hehehe. I’m j/k

@Tiz, yeah that does make sense.
