Do We Care?

Or how about reducing that insane trade deficit and the national debt to a more manageable level...

Yeah he is. Did you hear his speech at the DNC last year?

I agree Cesare, but it's not really a 'youth' movement - its hard to see thousands of idealistic kids marching with signs saying 'stop importing oil - it's causing a huge deficit and its politically unstable!!!' or 'Does the government even CARE about the ECONOMY?!?!?!?' The roles would traditionally be reversed.

Lil Jonny, you are ridiculously close minded and if you maintain that attitude when you go to college (in a half a decade) you will be shunned.

its crazy. there was a surplus what, 5 years ago?

Iraq War - We should reserve the right to exercise pre-emptive self defense, but we should not intervene for hummantaries purposes.

Genocide in Sudan - No country should intervene in the internal affairs of a foreign country. The US should not get involved at any level.

Abortion Ban in South Dakota - State Issue, no need for federal regulation. I generaly support abortin but belive Roe vrs. Wade is a grave misinterprtation of the constitution. Each state should make it's own choice.

Gay Marriage - State Issue. I generally support gay marriage but oppose any attempt by the federal government to regulate marriage, which is inherenlt a domain reserved exclusively for the states.

No Suprise, I am a libertarian.

Well, the worsening of the deficit was majorly caused by a huge market crash and lets not forget that a manageable deficit can be productive - although yes, it has seem to have gotten way out of hand.

"Lil Jonny, you are ridiculously close minded and if you maintain that attitude when you go to college (in a half a decade) you will be shunned."

Please don't call me Lil Jonny. That isn't my name. Would you like me to start calling you Miz Madd S?

I don't care what other people think of me. Obviously, there are plenty of other people that are against gay marriage other than me.

"Yes, most American teens don't even know, nor care, about what's going on around the world. I'm in seventh grade and I have more knowledge of world events than some of you do. Pathetic.

Iraq War - We need to leave. It was a mistake going in there in the first place. First, our motive was to get rid of nuclear weapons, then it changed to "Take down Saddam!", and now it's... I don't know what.. Rebuild Iraq/Try to establish a democracy/ fight the terrorists/ etc. etc. etc.

Genocide in Sudan - Sad, and it's definately a problem, but we have too many things on our hands to start fighting another war.

Abortion Ban in South Dakota - I think women should have the right to abort a pregnancy under some circumstances.

Gay Marriage - Disgusting. Immoral. Wrong. Eww. Sick. Gross."

ROFL. Good job on shooting any credibility I might have had in you. First off, you are arrogant.

Furthermore, I love your incompetent analysis of the Iraq War. It seems you form your opinion from the popular view. I suggest you actually read press releases from the white house, and follow up on differing news sources. The Iraqi War is much more complex than how you look at it.

Finally, it reminds me of my naive days when I would hear classmates say things such as "Disgusting. Immoral. Wrong. Eww. Sick. Gross." You just proved to us that you are indeed a 7th grader. Either grow up, or accept some humility.

Please, Jonathan K. has an opinion. You may disagree, but please don't start a flame war over it.

Jonathan K: Just ignore all these intollerent people here. I disagree with you but respect you right to your oppinion. This board needs more posters from a conservitive point of view.

If you see any posts that are personally insaulting, just click on the "Report Offensive Post" link and it will be removed in minutes. I've already done this to several of the worst flame bates posted against you.

I know, I wasn't aware that Sesame Street was teaching current events...

My god, was does everyone here get angry when someone posts ideas that they disagree with. Just give John K a break. If you disagree with him, tell him why as opposed to personally attacking him.

Billhpike, THANK YOU.

Madd Stressed, stop wit your annoyingly sarcastic attitude. It's extremely immature. Stop trying to pick fights with me.

War in Iraq - how about saving those billions for education or for something actually useful? Let's not follow in daddy's footsteps to get his approval....

Genocide in Sudan - as sagar said, the U.S. has a lot on its own hands right now - but genocide needs to stop.

Abortion ban in SD - a huge step backward. Once that state stops getting its rules and morals from the Bible, maybe it'll recognize women's rights.

Gay marriage - no different from heterosexual marriage. If two people are in love, why does the government care? Why does it wish to destroy happiness?

Barack Obama '08 - now all he needs to do is run!

"how about saving those billions for education "

We spend enough on education, we're just not using it wisely.

I agree with you though that we shouldn't be in Iraq, and money should go to other causes.

"how about saving those billions for education "
Education is a state issue, per the tenth admendment. The Federal Government should not be spending any money on it.

And I would like to keep it there-who in this country wants a Monbusho that runs everything and makes life a living hell for those it rules?

I wrote an extensive project on No Child Left Behind, John K. I'm pretty clear on what's lacking in our educational system - including state independence.
Funny - this conservative in my town is also named John K. He's not too well liked.

War in Iraq Should have reduced Karballah, Fellujah, etc, to rubble, and not sent troops in. Ridiculously politically correct and wasteful war. Refer to Dresden bombings and Hiroshima to see how a war is actually fought.
Genocide in Sudan Least of our problems
Abortion ban in SD This hasn't become law yet, I think. Its in our best interest to see it doesnt
*Gay marriage*Not the government's problem, state or local
[Obama]Obama Barack is another fool spouting more rhetoric. I love how these political hacks complain about dependency on oil, and at the same time seal off Alaska.
On a sidenote, neither the Federal govt. or the state govt. should spend any money on the following: education, arts, sciences, transportation, healthcare (more to be added)

No Child Left Behind is crap. My mom's a special ed teacher and it has really messed with the way she teaches-- more children will end up being left behind as a result.

Jackson, what do you think is lacking in our educational system? I'm curious.
