Do we have to go to Orientation and whyyy

<p>Another orientation question except...</p>

<p>A.) Do we have to attend Orientation?
B.) It says it lasts a day and a half and that (Muir) students are lodged in residence halls, but do we have to sleep at<br>
UCSD or could we just go home and come back the next day if we live in San Diego? Or does orientation even really last a day and a half? - could we finish faster? o.O
C.) The earlier the orientation date the better? or does Orientation date not affect anything else?</p>

<p>Thank you to any current students willing to help; I apologize in advance if the questions seem dumb, but I don't understand orientation from the orientation website</p>

<p>ohh I know the answer to that! No. Actually, I'm pretty sure parents aren't even allowed to go with you. They're allowed to sign up for a separate orientation for parents only</p>

<p>A) Yes. And you'd be losing out on a lot if you didn't.
B) You have to stay at UCSD.
C) Doesn't matter.</p>

<p>for 1 thing, orientation is when you get your IDs.</p>

<p>You can go to orientation with your parents. They will be housed in a different dorm.</p>

<p>Benefits of orientation:
A]Meet new people in your orientation group that you can see later in the fall (Welcome Week)
B]You get your Tritoncard.
C]Tour of the campus and college itself.
D]Scheduling your Fall 07 classes with your academic advisor.
E]Last but not least, free stuff!</p>

<p>why is it that some orientations are cheaper than others? some of my friends in muir don't have to pay as much as i do..</p>

<p>Nothing is free. We pay $130 to go to orientation. They better be showering us with shirts.</p>

<p>i only have to pay 3k in loans but i already have 2k in scholarships and ill probably wont need those 3k since im getting a triple room</p>

<p>Gosh really? I got that 8K scholarship and some other pell grants and stuff. I'm going to not take loans and pay 8.5K.</p>
