<p>For the common app. essays, when you upload them, do you include your name and/or social? What about a title for the essay? Is this necessary?</p>
<p>My son said in most sample essay books, there are titles to the essays. He is turning it in tonight so if anyone can help him with this, we appreciate it.</p>

<p>I would recommend including the name / soc. sec # - --little downside, big benefit if the papers are misplaced after being printed out by the school(s).
As for a title, not essential - - - if an appropriate title comes to mind, use it; otherwise, don't worry about it. IMO. Good luck.</p>

<p>I don't need you need it. The commonapp.org system automatically adds your name and some identification number (probably your account's serial number, like 1234567) to the top of the page.</p>
<p>How about if using the college's online application rather than the commonapp? Do I need to add my name?</p>
