Do what majors you select when applying affect your decision?

For example, would a person with a 670 V and 790 M applying for pol sci have less chance of acceptance than a person with a 790 V and 670 M? ...cause I think this may have been my major mistake when applying.

i think so, i had ~ 700w 600v 500m and I applied as an english major, had i applied as an engineering major i probably would have been at a disadvantage

According to my councelour. It's easier to get into Columbia if you apply for the math school. Whatever that means.

I think that it does matter. It makes sense that it would matter. Why would you let a strong science and math student into your college if they wanted to major in English but they were only mediocre at it.

Sh it. Damn. This is the reason than. Cause the person I gave in the example actually happens to be me. >.<
