Hello

I have applied for Fall 2014 UT transfer admission as a business major. Currently at ACC with gpa of 4.0 to 46 credits, good essays and strong international experience in the accounting field.

I am looking to get a W from english comp II. I am not failing. I just realized revising the essays will limit me to a max of a B grade.
There is no way I can write the perfect first draft even after seeking help.

This is my last semester before I get into UT. I dont want to ruin my gpa.

This will be my second W if i get it. The first one was a year ago (course load was too much)

My question is should I go ahead and drop the class and W or get a B?

Any useful comments are welcome
Thank you

Don’t be afraid of a W or a B. I’m not sure what school you are trying to get into. I transferred from ACC the McCombs with a W and a B. Hope that relieved a bit of stress.

Thanks schoolgirl. I withdrew from the class anyway. did not want to see a B on the transcript.
Coincidently I am applying for the business school from ACC as transfer. I hope you wont mind answering some questions.

Your stats from ACC
are you still a student in the business school
how hard is to keep a GPA of 4.0 at the business school
Can I send my transcripts earlier by mail, instead of waiting after acceptance
Thank you

A W won’t hurt you at all just for the record.

Also, it’s very difficult to maintain a 4.0 in mccombs. I transferred from a Dallas cc and thought I was going to graduate with a 4.0 UT gpa as well…didn’t happen. It’s not necessarily hard to get a good gpa, but a 3.8+ is definitely easier said than done.

Thanks Andrewt787. The wait is driving me insane. May I ask you: did you graduate already from McCombs,
what was your transfer GPA and graduating GPA.

Transferred with 3.8 (60 hrs), but I was surprised I got in. All other external transfers I spoke to had 3.9+.

Graduated with roughly 3.3 UT gpa.

Thanks. Without being too personal, what was the hardest thing you felt did not let you get a higher GPA, i.e material too difficult/insane amount, not enough time.

What are you doing at the moment? Are you working in the field?
