Do you believe I can raise my sats? And how?

I got 600 reading, 630 writing and 630 math.. It was the first time I took the test. The thing is that in comparison to the rest of my academic achievements my scores are very low. I am taking the test again in October. I tried to study vocabulary because English isn't my native language and I've seen an improvement. However I need focused studying. Do you know where i can find useful stuff to study? And do you believe that I can improve?

Yes, if you practice, you can improve. Check the threads that are here on the topic. There are lots of recommendations for best books. Good luck!

Buy the official SAT prep book that has all the tests (the Princeton review is also good) and just work through the tests over and over again. If you can afford it, take an SAT prep course (which you probably should’ve done over the summer). I went with Testmasters and they got me from a 1950 up to a 2140 (though if I were to superscore it would be 2250). But just working the practice tests help immensely as well.

i got a question about the Princeton review, there are so many mixed thoughts on their accuracy and how well they actually are, but can you please explain to me if they really are great for practice? hows their 12 practice tests book?

DO NOT USE PR.

I used to be a supporter of PR. But their tests are super depressing. I have no clue how to explain it. Dx

lolz depressing???^ whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???

Serious. I did like 3 practice test. And I was like super depressed in every single freakin way.

Then i took a BB, and I felt happy.

0.o

PR is that hard? isn’t that a good thing when it comes to practice?

No, it’s not HARD.
It’s like how pathetically pointless it is to take PR. Like say, I got something wrong, I look at the answers, AND THEY GIVE THE WORST EXPLANATIONS EVER.

I don’t know. The book isn’t hard. It’s just how everything is.

Then when I learn the “techniques” and crap. I end up getting something LOWER the next test. I actually reached 1400s when I was in the 1900s a month ago

The Blue Books explanations are online on their website.

Even though they are not the shortest, if you understand it well, that’s all you need. Also post in CC as well for other variations of answers.

Also, if anything, I would recommend Barrons, or at least Barrons 2400 by other people even though I have not personally used it. It generally received well reviews. However, personally, the only third source book I bought is Dr Chung. It is ultra depressing in the fact that you can possibly get half the questions wrong in each math practice test due to its difficulty.

I will repeat. SAT Math is just a FLY, INSECT, ANT compared to Dr Chungs SAT math. Maybe that’s a good thing, but it is depressing me to the max.
