Do you buy solution manuals and study guides along with your textbooks?

Don't know if it's worth the extra $70... :(

extra $70????
You are buying a new book from university's bookstore?

Have to. New edition...

i think that would be best, college math is gonna be hella hard...and i'm not very math-oriented, so screw the price if it helps me understand the material better

unless you can find a friend to share one manual...you should buy one.
Solution manual is necessary for most students.

Should I even bother buying the new edition? My sister's class used the old one, and I have it... >_>

it depends on whether your professor wants the new edition.

Do you know anyone who already has the new one? If so, compare your sister's old one to the new one. Usually, one edition doesn't make a huge difference and you can still use it. But this is not always the case - especially with physical sciences/math subjects - because some of the problems will be different.

For instance, I have to buy a new physics book and lab manual for $150 because the problems in the old and new one are drastically different.

But, for some of my psychology classes, I haven't had a problem using an old edition.

It's for gen chem. Meh... I'll bring the old one along, and if I need to, I'll buy the new one.
