cc lurker i bet its isotretinoin. thats what im on and its one of the few that they really pound into your head that you cant draw blood but u get a test every month.

Actually apparently you have to be 110 pounds and 17…

^Or have a parental consent form if you’re 16, at least here.

Uhhhhhh. I’m 5’3 and now weigh like 102 pounds and I still catch a ton of flack about being “too thin.” I have fairly small bone structure as well, but I can’t even imagine weighing 87 pounds. You’d have to like… completely remove my boobs and whatever other fat there is on my body, and only then could I weigh that little. Haha.

in my area you have to be 16 and weigh at least 110 lbs.

i can’t give blood because of low blood pressure, medication, and i don’t meet the weight limit.

but if i could, i would do it! i always encourage my friends to give blood.

Today was my school’s blood drive. A girl threw up in Bio, lol… like 30 min after donating.

Also, I realized that both times I donated and just about passed out, I had eaten very little beforehand. So I might try one more time, next time the school has one, after a hearty breakfast lol.

Except… now that I think of it… I also almost passed out the last two times I got shots, and I’d probably eaten on those days…
Grrr @ my body’s irrational response to blood…

Well I don’t know why but no one has ever said anything about my weight. Maybe because I don’t look that skinny? Plus, I have decent boobs…lol. But yeah, I haven’t exactly gained a pound since for the last two years even though I did grow taller. But my obese nurse didn’t believe me and requested that I re-weigh myself. didn’t change…lol.

Hm, that’s weird. lol.

i would donate blood, but sadly im not old enough :(

I would, but we got a population crisis on our hands.

CT

nick, if it is too personal, but where do yu live?

Can’t do it. I cry at the sight of needles, haha. And when I got blood drawn last (and it was my dad drawing it, so not even that big of a deal), I flipped a lid.

At my school you have to be 17 and 110 lbs. I can’t donate though, because I’ve spent more than 6 months of my life in the UK, so obviously I have mad cow disease.

same here, thiscouldbeheavn. well, except for the mad cow/UK part, haha. last year i was too young, but this year i’m worried i won’t weigh enough. i don’t want to faint/pass out, but i do want to give blood. i mean, i make so much of it anyway, and there are people who really need it. every 2 seconds someone needs blood, but only 5% of the eligible population actually gives it. 5%! and i think they said last year that you can save up to three lives with one donation (which is a pint, i’m pretty sure).

You get a few community service hours for donating, and one donation would put me over the threshold needed for graduation. Oh well.

I tried. I don’t weigh enough.

Also, my parents, being doctors, think it’s my duty to donate blood. So even though they switched the age to 16, I keep telling them it’s 17 haha.
