Do you drive fast?

I consider myself a "fast driver" (if there's no traffic around, i'll be fine going like 15 over...not too bad).

Then again, sometimes it's hard to do the speed limit on the highways around here where everyone goes at least 10 over...i.e. the beltway.

Anyway, what are your general driving habits?

^I only have my permit, but I would consider myself to be a slow driver. The first time I drove, I got honked at three times:( I don’t go that slow though, usually I go around the speed limit, but I live in California so we have that “go with the flow” rule.

Finally got my license today.

I always go the posted speed limit. I figure that the government has some idea of what speed I should be going. Additionally, I don’t have $200 to blow on a speeding ticket and keep me from getting my after 9’s license.

^you just got your license…give it some time.

i don’t know about where you live, but around here there are a ton of roads where the posted speed limit is just like …COME ON!!!

lol, maybe i’m just a generally impatient person.

Well, they do a decent job around here with decent speed limits. Oh, but “advisory speeds” can kiss my you-know-what. We have a turn here that has an advisory speed of 15 on to a 55 mph road. I’m like, if I go 15 someone’s going to rear-end me. I do have to admit that when I first started driving at one point I made a right turn at an intersection at 45 mph. Nothing happened though =)

I’ll drive fast if the conditions allow.

And my dad drives close to 10-20 mph over until he approaches a police car. He has some device that points out where the police have their laser guns. It’s still legal in MN :)

I drive 5 over the speed limit, sometimes 10, as a general rule. On the highway though, I go 10-15 over to keep up with the flow of traffic.

I got pulled over for going 70 in a 50. Only got a seatbelt ticket though. I had my seatbelt on, but it costs less money than a speeding ticket, and I guess the cop felt nice.

I wish I could afford a radar detector.

You could just go the speed limit.

I go by my highway rule.

“Go slower than the closest person to you, and you’re ok.”

I go 5 over at most. There have been times where I’ve gone 10-15 over to pass someone who is driving slower than me, but whom I will not be able to pass before I get to the two-lane.

(When I’m driving home, the highway merges from a four-lane into a two-lane.)

I push it as far as the cops in the area allow without ticketing.

ITT: guy who thinks he is badass.

Unless you live in a rural area where pigs don’t care, then go ahead. But you aren’t part of the MNC are you? Going 15 over is just ■■■■■■■■.

That’s what she said.

Only have permit, and since getting more used to driving on the road, I try to be within 5 of the posted speed limit.

theReach…

thanks for judging me, but I’m not trying to be a badass.

I just feel like…if i can get somewhere a little bit faster, why not? (please dont answer this question, it’s rhetorical. kthanks)

On the highway I usually go around 75-80 mph if my parents aren’t with me. If they are, I usually go around 60-65 mph. On the backroads, I usually just follow the speed limit since most of the time the traffic is moving pretty slow. Also, they’re a lot of cops on the backroads, and since my car stands out like a sore thumb, I don’t want to get noticed.

^ Why does your car stand out like a sore thumb?

It’s probably yellow or red or something.

Anyone know the color or the most cars pulled over is?? is it red or yellow? I can’t remember but i think it’s red.

Yeah it’s red, so I have to be extra cautious. And I think you’re right buzzardsbay, red seems most common.

Approximately 5 over. On the interstate I go a little bit faster.
