Do you ever "break ther rules" while taking the test?

i did that once for 1 ACT math problem

period .

For me, the SAT isn't a measure of intelligence, it's a measure of how hard you study/how much your parents are willing to pay for test prep and personal tutors. I don't mind "cheating" on the SAT--turning back to do a tiny bit of work on a section, not like copying someone's answers--just for that reason.

I was finishing the last math question and didn't have time to do the final calculation. I did the critical reading section, which took me about half the time, then did the rest of the calculation in my head (not on my paper), chekced back to see which answer it was, and bubbled it in. All in about 10 seconds.

And I don't feel the slightest bit guilty. I would if I had done something like that on, say, a test in chemistry, but the SAT? CollegeBoard manipulates us for their own personal gain, why not turn it back on them (if only just a little)?

I don't see what good I would be doing to myself by not doing those calculations in my head on a CR section when there are people that discuss answers with their friends during breaks. Some people would never be able to get rid of the fact that they did it, but I feel that it's morally okay to that but not to cheat off of someone. Of course sometimes I might end up doing a CR question on a math section or during a break, but it can go either way. Does CB have any clue about the type of cheating that goes around? If they did it electronically, then you could make all the other sections locked up so that people couldn't go back to them.

It's funny you should mention that RahoulVA. I remember thinking (when I was in about 8th grade) that by the time I was old enough to take the SAT it would be administered on computers. But here I am a senior in HS and the SAT is taken the same way it always has been.

This is going to sound weird, but I almost did it once. I guessed on a problem because I needed more time to solve it, and the first thing I did during the reading section was solve it. Luckily, my guess was correct so I didn't go back and do anything about it.

Okay quick question. How are you suppose to use a dictionary or an "ipod touch" during the test? Put it in your pocket? I don't know about you but my the instructor walked around and made sure everyone's eyes were on their own paper and there were no electronic devices.
