I know several people who've done it. ;)

That’s kinda dumb.

^ I second that.

Why would anyone do that? My email is part of my personal space - no boyfriend will ever get my password. Why? because he might just sift through my mail and start up trouble for no reason. There’s this beautiful thing called “trust” that needs to be maintained.

No way.

My boyfriend gave me his…he doesn’t have mine though. Not that I’d have an issue giving it to him :)

He doesn’t need to know. Just because we’re dating doesn’t mean we’re the same person. He should trust me enough to not need it anyway.

I didnt give my girfriend, however I very trusted friend whom I worked on very sensitive issues with a 3rd friend, I gave that person my info, since I absolutely trust them, and just in case something happens to me, they know where to start looking and contact my parents.

I wouldn’t do that…why would they want it? I don’t care to read through their email…

The fact that he would ask me for my password would make him seem paranoid.

My girlfriend has my facebook password, but I spy on her ass like the KGB so I’m okay with it.

My boyfriend’s upset because the whole password exchange thing sounds incredibly dumb to me; no way in hell am I giving him my Facebook password so he can have fun with that once we break up. What happened to trust anyway? Why are you going out with someone you need to spy on?

Sounds horrible.

Because she’s hot? Duh

If we had to that in every relationship, some of us would have changed their passwords so many times that they can’t even remember which one they changed it to…

My girlfriend has mine and I have hers…I think that’s an even trade…shrug

That’s crazy talk.

Yeah, cuz then when you guys break up they can wreak havoc on your life.

(apparently an ex-friend once was dropped from all their classes post-breakup)

lol did they explain what happened to the university registrar? and did the classes get restored?

This was a story told at Orientation as part of the “Don’t give other people your ID number and passwords” lesson. The implication was that the victim was just ****ed.

Why do you need to exchange passwords?
