Do you ever just feel like a failure and start thinking that the best college you could get into is the crappy state ones?

I don't know... I'm just feeling stupid tonight.

Do you ever just feel like a failure and start thinking that the best college you could get into is the crappy state ones?

I don't know... I'm just feeling stupid tonight.

I did before I was accepted to a few places

Failure is only a state of mine.

stanford just seems so far away :(

yeah, I get those feelings. But I did apply to Duke, Stanford, Harvey Mudd, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Olin and Tufts, so it's not surprising that I would feel insecure.
Thank God I was accepted to University of Colorado at Boulder.

where you get into college has nothing to do with being a failure or not. its mostly random luck.

ya dont get down on urself about something that isn't the end of the world. it's not all about where u get into college it's about the attitude u have once u get there and what u do with ur education/what you make of it. success is something different for everyone and it's something u define personally; it shouldn't be something u can measure with "societal benchmarks" like getting into an Ivy League School, being valedictorian, etc.

Musicallylatin:
you deserve to feel like a failure. AUNT MARGARET

I'll probably end up at UCLA, even if I get into Berkeley/Harvey Mudd.

It's just too great a place.

I did, and was especially sad when i didnt get into the big state school, but then things got wayyyyyyyyyyy better

=]

Yes, oftentimes, infact..

Most of the time...sadly :/

IF I GET INTO MY STATE SCHOOL I WILL BE SUCH A FAILUR EOH MY GOD CLEARLY EVERYONE WHO ENDS UP AT STATE SCHOOLS IS UNINTELLIGENT AND WILL NEVER SUCCEED IN LIFE

IF I DON'T GET INTO AN IVY LEAGUE OR OTHER TOP 10 SCHOOL I WILL FEEL SOOOO EMPTY AND WORTHLESS~~~ l

^^^
Now that is just harsh....

I think Poseur is one of the few sane posters on CC. : )

^If so, may god help us all.

^ I agree.

But then again...
Racheal might just have a point.

I mean, I don't like SUNY schools, but I'm probably going to end up at Penn State University Park. It's in the top 50, so I don't really consider myself a failure, even though I'll always have a lust for Yale.
