Do you ever lie about your GPA/Test Scores to your classmates?

I lie and say I got a 23 on the ACT when I really got a 32, because I don't wanna be known as "the girl who got a 32 on the ACT."

Has anyone else ever done this?

I would never lie, but if I did I would say a higher score rather than a lower score.

Do you want people to think you are dumb?

A highly doubt a 32 is high enough where people will talk about it.

lol, I brag about my 34 like crazy. It bugs the hell out of people.

I have sometimes. When I get a 91 on something I’ll just say I got an A.

Class test scores, but not GPA or standardized tests.

Like right now. If you lie about your scores, then you need to get over yourself.

If I get asked that question, I usually respond as ambiguously as possible and they usually get the message.

I don’t lie for my GPA, but I don’t tell people unless they really really press me for it. After telling just one person, though, it gets out of hand very quickly…

And sometimes it’s the other way around: I’ve had people 3 grades lower than me walk up to me and tell me that I got x in an exam 2 hours before I was supposed to get my mark.

When people ask me about HS GPA, I say “too low” everytime at first. Then, after they press me, I generally just round to the nearest .25 or so. When people ask me about my test scores, I say “It really doesn’t matter much.” When they ask for a number, I’ll say “good enough” and maybe give them a number if they are obstinate. But yeah, I don’t know why anyone would say numbers to others. Either it’s high and you’re considered to be bragging, it’s low and therefore your dumb, or whatever. It’s not other peoples’ business anyways.

LOL, someone at my school claimed he got a 32, was first in the class, and got accepted into HYP. It was later revealed he got a 23, was in the top 20%, and matriculated to Mizzou.

I don’t, because if someone asks me chances are they’re competitive as ****, so it would be like

Situation 1
WHS Student: What did you get on your Psych final?
Skywalker23: 92%
WHS Student: HAHA I GOT A 97% MOTHER*ER!!! OWNED *!!! *darts down hallway laughing

Situation 2
WHS Student: What did you get on your ACT?
Skywalker23: 33
WHS Student: What the hell? I only got a 30! This isn’t ***ing fair…god dammit!!! *walks off wiping tears from eyes

I’ve never taken the ACT/SAT, but as far as school grades go, I don’t lie. I usually just keep it to myself unless someone asks.

hellz no, i aint trippin

I don’t because even though they’re rather unimpressive to me (ACT: 31, UW GPA: 3.7, SAT: 1980), people drool over them (figuratively of course).

^see, right there there was no reason for you to post your stats, your sentence would have been functional either way. Arrogant much?

I don’t like tellign people my grades in general, but I just divulge " a certain neighborhood." If I know somebody extremely well/trust them, I will tell them straight out. If a random person comes up to me, I like to retain some privacy, thus being more vague.

Hah. I don’t see it as arrogant considering I don’t find them impressive myself.

But yeah, the sentence could’ve been better without them. No need to get irked about it, though.

u lied & said u got a 23…???

i would never lie about standardized test scores, because i would forget the first lie & keep changing the number around, & probably end up getting caught in the lie, lol.

but f yes i lie about my GPA, haha. i stretch my 3.3ish UW to a “oh…somewhere in the high 3.0s” ;)

I lied and deflated my ACT. I used to say “around 30ish” and deflated my GPA to my UW (which no one goes by in our school because only people who calculate their own grades even know their UW GPA).

But, once you’re out of high school, no one cares about that crap.

I prefer honesty. Even if my score’s better than the other person’s… they decided to ask, so they get to know the truth.
Of course, that also means I don’t care about telling people I got a D on a math quiz :stuck_out_tongue:
Sometimes I’ll be vague, but I won’t lie.
