Do you fear those acceptance rates statistics and judge your school?

Hey guys,

I know that I should not base a school based on its statistics- which top school has the easiest ED rate, or maybe that this school has a high engineering college acceptance rate, but although I feel I am at the competitive level to get into the school, I still worry. Especialyl since I appling ED to Duke, I feel like I could be wasting it on a really competitve school when I could have chosen another school that I have equally liked, say Vanderbilt or Northwestern. I know I should not base things on acceptance rates, but at the same time, I would like to seize a school knowing that I have that school in my hands. What is your advice?

I think the only reason to ever apply ED is if you know the school well and know that you'll be happier there than anywhere else. if that holds true then you shouldnt feel as if you are "wasting" an application. if not then you are better off not EDing anywhere than being like I'll ed "somewhere". if you have a few school that you like equally, well, ED doesnt give you the comparing chance that RD offers so only apply ED if you are down to ONE school.
