that too. those pagans

What’s an agnostic?

HELL no. My parents are Catholic. I’m atheist, along with the rest of my school. I don’t know any religious people in SoCal.

Oh, and an agnostic is someone who believes that there may be some higher being out there but not necessarily “god” and they still do not know if there is anything.

agnostic
“I’m neither arrogant enough to believe that there is nothing out there that may be beyond my ability to comprehend that works agaisnt or even manipulates physical law…
NOR
am I self-centered enough to think that if one being did create everything in the entire universe ever, he’d give a flying f*** what I do on Sundays, what I eat on Fridays, or who I f***”

I’m officially a CCist.

Who do I condemn now?

From Wikipedia:
“Agnosticism is the view that the truth value of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claims—is unknown or unknowable. Agnosticism can be defined in various ways, and is sometimes used to indicate doubt or a skeptical approach to questions. In some senses, agnosticism is a stance about the similarities or differences between belief and knowledge, rather than about any specific claim or belief.”

^ omg…you’re a kafir!!! sooo haram. inb4 ur parents disown you.

jk.

^^^ condemn the Caf

grandma was mormon, I think I’m baptized latter day saint but I really don’t follow it

my parents: not sure what they believe religiously
me: don’t care what I believe religiously

so it’s not much

mom, and the rest of her family: Muslim.

dad: born Christian, now Atheist/apathetic.
His family is pretty Christian. He has a Mormon sister, & another nondenominational Christian sister. Their family reunion always starts with a thank you to “the Lord Jesus Christ”. I always feel awkward, ahem

me: Agnostic, kinda not really Muslim. It’s a culture thing more than belief

brother: Muslim

wow…why are so many the ‘muslims’ on this thread agnostic or atheist now? What happened? I’m really curious to know what went wrong or what made you guys change your minds about Islam.

^ America is just becoming a more and more secular society. Religion isn’t really allowed in schools and parents are going to worship less and less. Unless your parents really push religion on you, most kids aren’t going to be religious. And, parents are getting less and less pushy about religion in general.

Or there are people like me who blindly followed a religion until he or she actually reflected on what were supposedly the beliefs of the religion and realized that they were complete crap and he or she didn’t agree with them at ALL.

^ you have a point there. When i was little and stilled lived in th U.S. i didn’t know too much about religion and didn’t even know the basics of how to read in arabic…which is necessary so you’d be able to read the Qur’an.

However, when I moved to the U.A.E. when i was still in the third grade and started going to school over there I had no choice but to take arabic and islamic studies classes everyday (well for islamic studies is was more like thrice a week though). So I was basically raised in a Muslim country/environment while growing up…so i suppose i had good examples all around me & it’s had to avoid thinking about the religion since you’ll always hear the athan coming from a mosque to remind you to pray…even at like 5 am.

Also, my mom has ALWAYS emphasized religion on me…even forcing me to enroll to take arabic/islamic studies/Qu’ran classes when we moved back to the U.S. even though i tell here that i don’t need them anymore because i’m already proficient in those subjects haha. So when i think about it…my mom plays a very important factor in making me religious.

But honestly, I’m not religious because it was emphasized more in my life…but for me it’s more of a genuine feeling.

You cannot say that because you haven’t a clue whether or not that is true. You were only raised with one setting- religion being forced on you from all sides. Therefore, you simply cannot say that if you were raised in America with lax religious parents that you would have been as devoutly Muslim as you are.

i invented my own religion

Dad - atheist
Mom - agnostic
Me - agnostic with leanings toward Buddhism and Theosophy

My mom’s Catholic and I know I’m not Catholic but I don’t know what I believe, honestly.
