The application for SIU Carbondale is asking me if I’ll get some kind of certificate/diploma/degree/whatever for my dual enrollment courses. So will I? I’ve done dual credit English and am currently doing dual enrollment Pre-law(pre-law being a CTE program).
Unless I’m misreading your question, they are most likely asking if you will have an AA or AS degree at the end of your dual enrollment courses. The answer to that is usually no, unless you had the opportunity to take 60-ish credits worth of DE classes while still in high school.
If your talking about something to send to college - you request that the college where you did dual enrollment send the school an official transcript even if it is on your high school transcript. It can’t just be the one the high school may get. At my daughter’s high school the student can order an official signed/sealed transcript to give to the guidance counselor to put on naviance. That is usually good for most semesters. The very last semester since my daughter already knew where she was matriculating she just had the official college transcript sent to the college directly.
It looks though like they are asking if you completed a program - from the sounds of it no you did not you just two classes.
Yes, all my D had was transcripts from two different colleges. I suppose it’s possible to actually have completed the requirements for some level of degree/certificate, but you’d probably know this as it would likely take a substantial number of courses.
you can also have many credits and no official program - my daughter had over 60 credits but was 4 classes shy of an associates since that was not her goal. I guess you can say she had 4 classes she needed for high school graduation or wanted as electives that were not part of the associate’s degree.
