Room and board only costs like $3000 (which really is a lot, but I don't think compared to other colleges). Will I get significantly more aid if I live at college? I only live like a 40 minute bus ride away from the college of my choice, so I was thinking about just living at home.

It depends on your college. You need to ask them, not us, as there is not a universal answer.

Room and board only costs like $3000

that’s really really low…is that per semester or per year? What school is this?

Anyway…to answer your question…

What is your EFC?
Does this school “meet need”?
Does your state give state aid?

Since most schools don’t “meet need” it’s possible that you won’t get any additional money for living on campus…which is why most kids in America do not live on campus.

Edited to add…

Is this UMinn-TC?

If so, then Room and Board is much higher…

Room and board: $7,932

And the school doesn’t “meet need”
