Nah my friend is still the same kid he was, just a little more unfocused maybe.

I guess it affects people differently.

my friend is like the super drug queen. She doesnt get high off pot anymore - she says it's just like alcohol. Like, she's so used to it that it doesnt do anything to her. She's on the 'upper level' of drugs. But her grades are still at A's at A levels.. But it's just her mood. On mondays and tuesdays, she's really happy. On wednesdays and thursdays, she gets really really fuc ked at the stupidest stuff. On Friday's, she's happy because she looks foward to her weekend lol.
She has lost some money but her family is one of the richest out of the rich families and her dad just gives her money.. She gets payed $100/week to come to school!
She is still nice and stuff but a tad inconsiderate of other people i think.
Yeah she's unfocused also. She's just doodles in her book or sleeps in her class.. So weird about her A's. I guess she's just naturally smart?

This got off topic...I'll bring it back.

Yes, I go out. Sometimes on weeknights when there are big games on tv or at our school that I want to watch with friends, but usually just on weekends/vacations. I usually go out both Friday and Saturday, and we do what I'm assuming are fairly normal things- movies, video games, poker, and some parties. Usually pretty laid back, but we have fun.

threads always go aff topic sooner or later, no point in bringing it back really. People gradually lose interest in the original topic anyway.

"Breaking the law! Breaking the law!"

Have you ever seen that Beavis and Butthead episode?

At the height of the swim season it was:

Wake up at 5:15 for swim practice that goes from 6-8
Start class at 9:00
School until 2:25
nap/snack/chill out
swim practice at 5 till 7:00
eat dinner, play videogames for a while
do a bit of homework (if anything is due the next day)
go to bed between 11PM and 1AM

but then I quit club swimming, so the afternoons were like
get out at noon every other day because of block scheduling (2:25 on B days still, I dropped Calculus for A days)
nap
play halo 2 for a while
cook/eat dinner whatever
go out with friends
come back at 10:30 or so
scramble my homework together if it's due
go to bed

I clearly coasted through high school academically.

i'm also coasting, i'm a cronic procrastinator and finish all homework right before my classes start. I go out on a regular but i own a business so weekend mornings are devoted to that. My schoolwork does not suffer and i'm having a good time. You don't need to kill urself for school.

Oh, and i'm thinking of opening an orphanage with my mom in my native (third world) country this summer.

So i say just have fun in high school....but keep college in your mind.
shrugs it works for me.

I am extremely unstructured.

Weekdays:
School until 3
Band/Club/Track until 5
HW/Eat until 11

Saturdays:
Hw/Eat/Sleep until whenever unless
Concert
Track meet
Special service things...

Sundays:
Eat/Sleep/Hw until 1
Sylvan until 7
Eat/Sleep/Hw until 8
Desperate Housewives!! and other TV shows until 11

I'm not allowed to have a life, so that helps.

before on wednesdays i tutor music at elementary schools
after school weekdays i had tennis, now i tutor at elementary schools
i "study" from 5-2am (before APs were done) but much of that time was on AIM/Xanga.

the reason i do a lot of crap is that i sleep around 6 hours a day on average, around 2 hours before majors tests.

saturdays i have symphony practice for 6 hours. which im going to go to right now. yipee.

aint that hard, i got tons of aps and a few time consuming ecs, but i still make time for my friends and to hang out after school/play basketball/game online with them
you can't possibly study 24/7 without taking an occasional break, your mind wont absorb anything after a certain point

Yup...I go clubbin with my sis'. You'd be surprised how wild the AP kids get in FL.

I sleep 2 hours, eat and shower 1 hour, and study 21 hours

Just kidding. Actually i study 2 hours, skate 4 hours, community service 3 hours, and surf/sleep/watch movies in the remaining of my time. I live in Fl btw.

Yeah, personally, I don't smoke, but all your criticism to ieatglue's smoking is wrong.it seems like many of you lead some extremely sheltered lives, which is also evidenced by your social habits. I'm not bragging, but I go out 4 days a week ( on weekdays to play poker and such) and weekends to go to parties, and I have still maintained a great GPA and been accepted to many top colleges, including an Ivy...

Shows that many people on this board truly aren't innately intelligent, but rather waste their high school lives studying. I find that one post in which the writer says that she studies Friday and Saturday nights unfathomable

Great time management skills..eh..

I cut back on sleep time and try to "balance" everything else. There's no way I could sit there for 6 hours straight and study the entire time. I actually find that the more I go out, the better I focus when I get back.

And drugs are everywhere. It's a personal decision, don't rag on others for their decisions.

I have lots of respect for those people who arent really "smart" as someone said but work really hard. Hard work often gets them further than smart kids. Oh well.. once again, personal decision.

I'm the type that's smart enough to coast by without doing a whole lot of work. I almost never do written homework unless it's to be turned in. And I teach myself the material for tests at 6:00 AM the day of the test.

Basically:

School till 3
Theatre til like 5:30 or 6:00 (during fall and winter, in spring i just come home)
Sit around and do pretty much nothing until primetime tv comes on
go to bed sometime between 10 and 2.

I don't go out every weekend or anything, actually most of the time during the weekends i'd rather just stay home and rest. i get up every morning and work for about an hour every morning at 6:00 because i'm more focused in the morning, so during the week i'm on super sleep deprivation mode. i usuallly stay up until like 4 in the morning on friday and saturday night just doing random crap, but then i'll wake up at like 7:30 for a whopping 3 and a half hours of sleep...so i just lay around all day and maybe take a nap in the afternoon.

sunday i usually work pretty much all day, though. all research and writing and usually studying too for the week ahead gets done on sunday.

you people who criticize others for getting high are ridiculous, and seem oddly ignorant for how smart i'm sure some of you might be. If you knew anything about the effect pot has on your body, you would know that the only damage it does is in your lungs, like cigarettes, as oppose to drinking which is like drinking poison. You can't die from smoking too much pot, you go to sleep. You can get alcohol poisoning and die from drinking too much.

People have been smoking for thousands of years, and the practice originated with the hindus in religious ceremonies. Buddhists were also "potheads". The practice of smoking pot, along with other "narcotics" that are actually for the most part just plants or fungi like marijuana or mushrooms (which grow naturally, not made in a brewery) was outlawed and made socially unacceptable when the europeans began colonizing. Ironically, the drug of choice of the Roman Catholic Church- alcohol, is to this day still legal and socially acceptable. This might explain the social stigma that exists about drugs to this day...

Now, none of this is b.s., i wrote a paper on it in my college huminaties class. It is an interesting subject to me bc i get high nearly everyday and i find that it really boosts my performance. I am hardly ever stressed out over stuff, and I find that little things that used to bother me- such as dumb comments on cc, are now something that I can put into perspective. Actually, since i began smoking pot, I have gotten all A's (thats in 6 AP classes and the rest honors in the past 2 years), and I have been accepted to emory and cornell. I think that even if you choose not to smoke, criticizing others for doing something that you clearly know nothing about is more wrong than using drugs. Sounds like some of you kids need to hit a bong, maybe you'll lighten up.

The whole drug thing's a waste of time and money if you ask me... No point to it. Anyway...

it boosts ur performance? im not criticizing pot, who cares if u do it. but u do know pot lowers ur iq and slows ur academic performance. why would u do this to help u in school? lol. most potheads, a lotta my friends are, realize that pot hurts ur academics and they really dont give a damn lol.

Weed makes you stink. You can get all the A's you want, but your pores are still going to release the stank. Other than that, I don't think it's an awfully bad thing, but don't do it because I can smell you.
