Do you guys text while studying or reading?

If so do you set like intervals while texting. For example, reply every 10 minutes.

I don’t, and I don’t recommend texting while studying. It’s just too distracting for me.

I text while studying, but only if it’s important or if its my mother or someone like that.

Yeah, I glance but don’t reply until I’m taking a break, unless it’s urgent.

Yes and it is so distracting. :frowning: That’s why a 1 hour study session turns into 5.

Yeah I usually have my phone next to me while studying and if there’s a text then I’ll reply to it. I also occasionally check Facebook and stuff. Very distracting but I think it makes studying feel less stressful.

Less stressful, perhaps, but also less effective. Having Facebook, texting, etc. while trying to study always turns into a multi-tasking disaster. We can’t multi-task. Numerous studies have shown this.

So I try to put my phone aside and stay off Facebook while studying, because I know it will just make things harder and take longer, but it’s still so tempting…

Well, I rarely get texts so naturally I’m joyful to have one to reply to. But in terms of the Internet and such distractions, yes, I do try to keep myself distanced from them. When my computer is not needed for an assignment I have no compunctions about putting it to sleep.

Yes! It’s hard though lol

By the question I’m guessing I don’t get texted nearly as much as you. Texting is something that you do like using the restroom. I would stop studying to text someone just like I would stop studying to use the restroom.
