Do you have time to exercise?

So I've noticed that it's incredibly difficult to find time to exercise in high school. I've got five weighted classes and multiple after school extra-curriculars and with the workload, it's pretty hard to keep in shape. I used to be on swim team, but it's off season now and I'm probably not going to join this year. These days, I try to go jogging on the weekends, even though I hate running with every fiber of my being(Sorry, cross-country runners). Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and how they deal with it?

Well, I don’t have time to exercise, either, so what I do is do simple ones, like push ups and sit ups, before and after school. It’s the most I can do in such small intervals.

In the weeks I’ll try to do something like jogging. Exercising helps the brain, you know.

Actually I m also facing the same problem didn’t got time for exercise, but always go to morning walk at least for ten two twenty minutes. This make me feel fresh and energetic.

its hard for yall? LOL its hard for me not to exercise, just condition for a sport or go to the park on the weekends and jog and hoop like i do :D

I’m glad I’m on cross country haha, I hated running at first, but I guess I’ve learned to like it. Really though, I always feel great after exercising.

Yea, I do XC. So I get to run ~5 miles a day, lift every other day, and get recognized for doing an EC.

Once you get those endorphins flowing, it’s actually easier to do other things like homework, college apps. etc. (After a quick shower and nap, of course  )

My offseason doesn’t even start until January so I’ve just been getting lazy and fat. Not much motivation to work out when I have to spend so much time studying for SATs, working on college apps, and all that crap.

You really should make time to exercise and especially at a young age, you should be doing at least an hour a day, 4-5 days a week. It’s a lot harder to get in shape as you get older. Further, it’s pretty well established that there is a positive correlation between regular exercise and academic performance. Figure out a way to find that hour a day and if not, perhaps drop one of your extracurriculars since in my opinion, good health is too important compared to almost anything else you’re doing.

Well since my dad bought a bowflex workout system and a treadmill, it seems much easier for met to exercise at home.

I am usually done with my homework/SAT work/EC’s + dinner and COD (haha) at 9, so I woukout with my dad until 10 (so we can spot each other), and then I just quickly drink some protein, maybe grill up some tilapia for extra protein, and get in bed by 10:30 and by 11:00 at latest if I feel like watching George Lopez :P

I wouldnt have time to work out uf i didnt run track/XC…or dance

Every day but sunday and thursday, I go to rowing practice for 2- 2.5 hours so I do have time to exercise

I have crew every day except Saturday and Sunday.

Monday-Wednesday is 3:45 to 6
Thursday and Friday is 3:30 to 6

Rowing or erging everyday. Rowing isn’t as bad as erging though. I always hate when it rains because of the ridicululous 5 mile runs around the indoor track and then an hour of erging after that (around 11k).

But our rowing team is one of the best in the Southeast.

With cross country, I’ve gotten way more exercise than I’d ever want. We get 5-8 mile runs every day and I’m like :.

Now, it’s over and I am so happy. I used to like running but HS cross country squashed that(middle school cross country was actually fun).

For exercise, I think I’ll just do pushups in front of the TV or something. I get a reasonable amount of exercise from gym class and moving from class to class in a large, spread out school.

I walk home from school. Since it’s a couple of miles, I get a decent amount of exercise. While it’s nothing amazing, I try to supplement it with sit-ups, squats, jumping jacks, and other simple stuff.

Exercise has never been my strong suit. >_>
