<p>High school record and test score can have some consideration if transfering after first year into second, none if transfering mid-sophomore year or after.</p>
<p>What course pre-requisites and GPA are needed vary. For example engineering is “hard,” in a sense, to transfer into because of GPA requirements (varying from 3.0 to 3.3 depending on major and mainly have As and Bs in math and science related courses) and course requirements – you need to be taking freshman year (and sophomore year if you wait to transfer later) the usual sequence in math, chemesitry, and physics courses that engineering students take. BUT if you actually meet the GPA and course requirements transfer is fairly easy into engineering. Nevertheless, that is a significant “BUT” because many of those freshman math, physics and chemistry courses leave many in the dust because they cannot get the B or better needed. Into most majors of LAS, the GPA requirements are much lower (and many majors do not require more than a 2.0) and the course requirements are mainly taking gen ed courses and the basic two freshman courses in the major (or more if you transfer third or fourth semester of college). Transfer into business is the most difficult since it tends to take only about 50% or less of those who request transfer into it and many with good GPAs don’t succeed in transfering (and for business there is currently only one chance to transfer – you must apply in May of freshman year and are accepted or rejected in June after grades come out and there is no opportunity to apply during any year thereafter)</p>
