Because it kind of sounds like it with all the high school friends I had that are currently attending UIUC. Can someone talk to me about this stuff?

I don’t party and I have friends. I think it depends on who you want to be friends with. If the people you enjoy spending time with go to parties then that’s what you may have to do. However, there are plenty of people here who don’t party, and if you’re intent on making friends you will.

Also, keep in mind that there are some residence halls that are more known for “partying,” i.e. the six pack. I live in ISR, and as long as you get some fun people on your floor, there are people to talk to and hang out with but it’s not loud at night when you want to sleep.

And another thing. The people who post on Facebook “I got so drunk last night” or “I’m so hungover” are going to be more noticeable on your feed than the people who were chilling with their floor mates and perhaps even studying. What you hear isn’t always representative of the population here at UIUC.

Completely agree with above^

all I have to say is don’t live in six pack if u don’t like partying.
