Do you have to pay to use PickaProf / Myedu.com now?

i went to the site and it wouldn't recognize my old username/password account from pickaprof. it looks like they changed they're name and require a fee....so we can't even look at grade distribution for free anymore?

yeah it sucks, they changed it a couple months ago

It doesn’t seem so. I just tried to make an account, and they have membership options: one is $10/year, and the other is $20/year. :-/ At least it’s a pretty reasonable membership fee. I’m contemplating becoming a member. How helpful is this website really?

Also, wouldn’t less members (since people have to pay now) equal a much lower number of professor evaluations? Sounds like this is much better for them than for their users…

you can still see prof evaluations but not grade distributions. so they have the same amount of hits (if not more) so advertising isn’t impacted

Where? I can’t seem to find the link.

I ended up paying the 10bucks and split it with 5 friends so it came to $2bucks each. Just so you guys know you can look up any schools grade threads for that $10bucks, so get a bunch of a friends from any school.

You should make sure they don’t have access to your credit card info through the account.

Also, if I were you, I’d get a whole bunch of people, and charge them two bucks each to use the account. You could actually make money this way! ;]

^Trust me I check and they don’t only thing someone can do is upgrade to the $20 membership.

Good to know it doesn’t show your credit card number/info. I might just do this too! :]

^ yeah its not a bad idea since most people are willing to pay $2 rather then $10 and it’s good for all schools.

Hmmm. Anyone know if logins from multiple computers at the same time are possible?

why not just use ratemyprofessor?
or is that site no good?

I do use ratemyprofessor.com, and it works well, but myedu.com also has grade distribution information, which can be good to know sometimes.

I always ask for the syllabus before I take a class. It can tell a lot about the professor and the ease of the class. (grade scale, assignments, etc)

Then I use RMP and see the opinions on the teacher.

@rpicton, who do you ask?

I email the teacher with a fake email

Great idea, good to know. Thanks!
