Do you have to put in old grades from an ex-CC for TAG?

The first CC I ever went to was straight out of high school. And because I still had a high school mentality I did horrible. I did take a break from school for one year and enrolled into another community college and I currently have a 3.38 UC GPA and filling out a TAG to UCSB. However, do I have to fill out the TAG form and input my old cc that I no longer went to? Mind you that the last time I went to this CC was 2009.

Yes if you took UC transferable classes at the former college. The TAG program requires ALL UC transferable grades to be counted.

I actually attended a TAG workshop at my school today, so the information is fresh in my mind. The online TAG application actually requires you to input every semester you attended a CC, and you have to specify all classes, transferrable or not. It will discern which classes are transferrable from the assist.org database automatically, and calculate a preliminary UC transfer GPA at the bottom of the class list. I also started inputting my information in today, so I know that the above information is accurate. Hope this helps.

So, should I re-apply to my old cc just so that I can do an Academic Renewal for all the classes at that old cc? Mind you it has been over 2 years now since I last attended.

you shouldn’t have to reapply. If you still have your ID # with that CC, they should still have you in their system. Just go there with your ID# or SSN. Even if you do academic Renewal, you will still have to report your grades from that CC on the TAG application but mark those classes as ‘academic renewal’ so they don’t affect your GPA.

^^I actually do have to re-apply since I wasn’t a continuous student. My plan was to do academic renewal and put them in my TAG. However, since I have forgotten which classes I have taken at that CC I have to wait until my student account is re-activated.

Couldn’t you just have the transcript from your old CC sent to your new one? Then you can do AR through your current CC and don’t have to bother reapplying? I know this is possible at my CC.

So, I came back from my old cc and I think I’m screwed. Their academic renewal is 3 years; so the last semester I took was Fall 2008 and Spring 2009.

I am also filling out a TAG app and I am 58 years old! I sent for transcripts from my first CCC which I attended in 1973 and another that I attended in 1980. I have been attending my current CCC on and off from 1990. All you need is the transcript from every CCC you have attended. You must enter every single class you have ever taken, including withdrawals, incompletes, etc. I have over 150 total units and I have to enter everything…even tennis that I got a W in in 1979!
