I am thinking of doing two SAT subject tests because some of my schools recommend doing so, however it is clearly possible to get in without doing so.
I was just wondering if I do a bad job if that will end up hindering me. Do I have anything to loose by taking these tests?
If I do a great job could a Math II Sat subject test score kinda overwrite a lower score in the ACT or SAT math section ? At least as an admissions person sees it.
If a school recommends it, and it is possible for you to take it, it would be in your best interest to take it. If the school offers score choice, you do not have to send it- but if they don’t, you would have to reveal a “bad” score if you got one.
I do not think a good score on an SAT II would help override a lower score on the ACT/SAT math section, but maybe others have a different opinion?
Research Common Data Set section c to see what admission office do with SAT subject tests. Some spell out pretty clearly e.g. They may say they just use them for placement but not admission. There is no uniform policy. Then look at what is a good score for the particular subject test. Math 2 a score of 690 is just the mean. If you do not think it adds value you may decide not to send the score after you know what the school does with them. In general admission want more data comparing your stats with othe applicants to make decisions.
