Do you HAVE to submit your SAT scores?

Many colleges (ex. University of Pennsylvania) now state on their admissions page that you must submit all of you standardized test scores. But they also give you the option of SAT or ACT. My question - if my son took both tests twice, but did way better on the ACT, does he have to submit his SAT scores? I guess I'm asking do you only have to submit ALL the scores for whichever test you choose, or ALL scores from both if you take both.

Even if he does submit all the scores, schools typically use the highest score or superscore for their consideration, so the lower scores won’t be held against him.

Thanks - but the scores are quite different, and I’m afraid they may seem jarring on the application. I just want to know the if he can choose to leave off the SAT scores.

I just sent my ACT scores, but I was also waiting on my subject tests to send my SAT score too

Many large school get everything on-line. I was told that for some schools, all that pops up when they look at your student is the highest scores and, as someone said, won’t hold lower against him. Also, if GPA/grades correlate with higher score I’m sure it wouldn’t look odd. Tests are always any given day!

Don’t worry. I also talked to a upenn rep and she said that the only thing that will pop up on the screen is your highest score, either sat or act. Btw does this also apply to the sat IIs? If your act is better than both your sat and sat IIs will only the act be considered? (the act can be submitted instead of 2 subject tests according to upenn.)

To answer your question, yes ALL sittings from ALL tests must be submitted:

I agree that it is not written that clearly, it would help if they gave an example. So I checked the Penn forum and many threads asked about the test reporting policy and they all were the same: all tests taken, of any kind, must be submitted.

If they were taken, they are submitted.

Thanks so much! It is a little confusing with the wording!
