do you have to take 32a if you got a 5 on BC?

so, my orientation counselor said that i must take 32a (or 3c) because i got a 5 on calc bc. is this true? i cant take 31a even if i want to?

also, if im not sure if i want to move from life sciences to phys sciences later on, should i go the 3 series or 31/32 series?

thanks.

yes, you have to take 32A/3C. might as well take 32A if youre not sure. 32A material is really interesting.

i’m pretty sure you have a choice between 31b and 32a and i think they were right in that you cant take 31a, but i’m not totally sure about that

thanks zzzboy and imrightuarewrong.

what about chem?is chem 20 series harder than chem 4 series? my counselor just said 20 is a little bit more in depth.

I’m in the same situation, and I was worried until I saw reviews for the 32A professors on bruinwalk.

Rogawski (sp?) was pretty well reviewed and it seemed to be a bit better for 32A/B kids than 31A/B.
Sheehan didn’t have many ratings but looked good/easy based on the few there were.
Mess was really recommended against and people said he’s hard as can be.

Assuming we don’t get stuck with him, I’d say 32A could be pretty cool; and hey, it’s wayyyyy less crowded than 3A/31A…

chem 20A/B is easy if you get scerri

For engineering, if we get a 5 on bc are we suppose to take math 31b?

you’re probably better off taking 32A than starting at 31b if you’re engineering and got a 5 on bc, it goes 31a, 31b, 32a, 32b, 33a, 33b then you’re pretty much done with math save a few classes

if you start at 32a that saves you from taking 2 classes and frees up some breathing room in your schedule
