Do you have your final list of schools?

adamantine.. your list is way too big. it'll be a waste applying to all of those schools. you seriously need to cut it down.

anyways, i'll only be applying to 2 schools this year.

UPenn and Columbia.

English major

UCB (1st choice)
UCLA (2nd)
UCSD
UCI
UCR
UCSB

Still considering applying to Cornell and Georgetown.

Yeah AdamantineX thats like atleast $1320. Just get a good list of safties/matches/reaches, roughly 2-3 each, and you'll be all good.

Stop applying to NYU, people. Only ME. ONLY I SHALL GET IN. ME. MEEE. MEEEEE!

Okay. I'll stop. I'm not serious. Not really. Not completely... n---Yeah, final list.. oh, and I'm an international transfer from Kuwait.

1. Cornell (HAHA) (finished, sent app): International Relations
2. NYU <3 aka, Dream School since I was 2 (finished, sent app): Journalism
3. Syracuse (finished, sent app): Journalism.. but for Fall '07, just in case I don't get in anywhere Spring '07 (they just emailed me that I can't transfer to Newhouse in the spring. woohoo.)
4. U. of Notre Dame: International Relations
5. U of Virginia: International Relations
6. U of Wisconson at Madison (finished, sent app): International Relations/Journalism
7. Northwestern (just for kicks): Journalism
8. U of Missouri at Columbia (finished, sent app): Journalism
9. U of Michigan at Ann Arbour (finished, sent app): Political Science

And maybe:

10. U of Texas at Austin: Journalism. But the app is really weird and well, not working. So I don't know.
11. U of Washington at Seattle: Journalism. But there was something about the app that just turned me off to it completely. Couldn't find the school or something.

In random order:

USC
NYU
Stanford
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
Uchicago

that's pretty much it. all business and engineering except for ucsd, uchic, and stanford, which are economics and engineering.

to the guy that applied to cornell, the cornell applications are not online yet... so i dont know how you sent it in...

to forgiven, why are you applying somewhere else if your going to michigan!

and to the kid whos wasting 1,000 $ on applications, you seriously need to cut down your list, that is obsessive/ranking whore-esque/and brand-wannabe

forgiven: just wondering, but where are you applying from?

i'll be applying from umich-ross.
it'll take me over 100k in loans if i stay for 3 years. i'm fine with that, but if i could go to a better school that would give me a better financial aid package, i would take it. i also always wanted to attend an ivy league school.

but hey, if i don't get in, i'm totally content with michigan. it's awesomeee.

Mojojojo -- Um, hello, the Common App. is what Cornell uses.

And are you talking to me about spending money on apps..?

Because it's worth it. Since if I get into any of those schools and the major, I get an instant merit scholarship. So.. hmm.. spend 1000 for 180,000? Sounds like an investment.

Enn, relax. we're not talking about your list. 9 schools isn't that bad. we're talking about adamantine's list and there is no need for you to flaunt your 'instant merit scholarship'.

and there is no need to be rude to mojojo. sheeesh. be happy :]

I'm never rude first. But yeah, I thought you were making fun of me, so my instant response was to be b!tchy. Sorry. =]

UCLA
UCB
UCSD
UCSB
UCI
UCD

In that order. Sad to say but most of those will be reaches for me but I have a TAA with UCD if I were to get rejected from all the other ones....

lol i am not wasting 1000 for apps i havent even started my first semester yet.. so those are just all the universities that I am CONSIDERING, as the op noted if we don't have our final list.

Enn: But I have to agree with you tho. I would spend 1000 if i have to for apps fees =). Coz I simply want to have a chance to actually apply to some top colleges in the nation.

IF (and that's a big if) I do not like my current school, and I have the time to fill out the forms and write the essays I'm looking at in order:

UPenn Wharton
Harvard
Columbia
Georgetown- MSB
NYU

Enn, although Cornell uses the common application, the transfer supplement is still not online, therefore your application is still incomplete :p

Columbia, Penn, Georgetown, BC, UNC-CH
NYU and BU are maybe's

Wow, a lot of people applying to NYU

How much is the tuition /year for NYU?

Mojo, all Cornell need from me is the instructor eval, the dean's school report, and for me proof of being able to finance my education.

And those are on the common app website.

I got a letter from them confirming that they got my materials today. But they'll tell me if anything's missing in september.

=p
