Do you have your travel itinerary from afa?

Does any one have your travel itinerary and ticket that the afa travel agent set up? Our son will be flying to Colorado Springs 6/28 by himself. I was told by the travel coordinator that he cannot sign up for the bed & breakfast (I-Day hosts) until we have a ticket in hand.

I plan on calling them this week for an update but would like to know if others have received their travel plans. My son’s Appointment was dated December 19, 2005.

I've recieved my itinerary and I recieved my appointment sometime in January but I didn't send it back and accept it until sometime in March. I'm surprised your son hasn't recieved his yet.

I received mine a month ago or so.

I received mine last week. I arrive in the afternoon of 6/28 on United.

I recieved mine a month or so ago.

Thanks for your feedback. I will make the call today.

I've received mine for the 28th.

For people going on the 28th, are any of you doing to Bed and Breakfast thing? Or are you just staying in hotels?

I'm doing the bed and breakfast. It seems like a great deal to me. I'd rather spend the night at an AOG members house with a few other people that will be improcessing and get a ride to the academy in the morning than spend it in a hotel and take a taxi to improcess. You can't beat the price either.

Do you have to sign the life-contract with AOG in order to get the "bed and breakfast" program?

No, no contract.

I'll be staying with my sponsor family along with two other soon-to-be cadets.

I wish I was getting to go alone and do the Bed and Breakfast, but alas, I did not get the choice, my parents invited themselves and won't think of letting me go by myself.

Do you already know your sponsor family? Was this someone you already knew?

This is off-topic but with the talk of arriving for inprocessing - if you fly in the day before, the cadets who meet you at the airport, make sure you have a ride to where you're going, and help you with whatever you need are actually the same people who will be cadre for your BCT. But they're nice because you're still civilians. ;) (I know because I was one of those people last year.)

Oh, I didn't know cadre would meet us at the airport. That'll be... interesting.

Falcon, my sponsor family is a family friend who's reserve air force and an Academy grad.

I didn't know that the AOG members have more than one appointee at their house. That's pretty cool.

"Oh, I didn't know cadre would meet us at the airport. That'll be... interesting."

But as I said, they're not in their cadre mode YET. ;)

Flight tickets came today.

I just pulled out the info on the AOG Bed & Breakfast Program. The AOG provides complimentary "B & B" for Appointees that are traveling alone and arriving June 28. If you do not have this info, the contact at AOG id Cindy Kinder @ (719) 472-0300.

Just use the AOG website to sign up.

Falcon, thanks for mentioning the AOG web sight. The Contact name and number is just for the benefit of those that did not get the info or can't find it.
