I don’t know if anyone cares.

Everyone in this thread is SO arrogant…

You’re one to talk, Kongo Bongo.
Quit replying to every HSL thread you see.

Eh, you can’t really respond in a non-arrogant way to a question that implies you have intelligence so dangerous that it might need to be hidden.

Secoja, stay on topic please so this thread doesn’t get locked.

And true, I suppose by virtue of posting on this thread, you already imply you’re intelligent.

@halcyon That’s why this thread makes me feel special. :3

I don’t show whatever intelligence I have, but I also don’t downplay it. It bugs me when people do downplay their intelligence.

I’m going to be flat out honest… I’m intelligent and I let people know it.

Modesty bugs you Meander? The opposite is arrogance.

@Em1944: Good Will Hunting! Love that movie lol.

All you goody-goodies on here.

You know you guys brag.

Here’s a link to the thread you guys should be on: [Bragging Time.](<a href=“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Official Teaser Trailer [HD] - YouTube”>The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Official Teaser Trailer [HD] - YouTube)

I am referring to the in-class environment. It certainly doesn’t do anyone any good when someone acts dumber than they are. It also doesn’t do anyone any good for being arrogant. Look, I don’t have a dog in this fight, I’m just answering the question.

Honestly, I think it’s just an inherent personality thing. Some smart and dumb people are naturally arrogant while others are humble.

Secoja, telling them they belong in the comments of a trailer on YouTube is an epic burn.

In other news, I’m now psyched for the next The Hobbit movie.

^Me too! Especially with Legolas in it :D

Well, it isn’t black and white. There are people who aren’t modest or arrogant about their intelligence.

I don’t brag about my grades. I don’t really try and hide it either. Ill bring it up if asked. I think I kinda act similar to whoever I’m hanging out with. Also I read once something along the line of “stupid people use profanity because they have no vocabulary. Intelligent people use it because in their head that’s how others sound to them, and they want to pretend they lack a sufficient vocabulary.” And I believe that’s completely true.

I don’t consider myself to be that intelligent. If I’m in a casual conversation with peers at school, then I tend to hold back a bit - i.e. not using overly advanced vocabulary - but in a classroom setting, not really, especially in presentations, essays, and socratic seminars/debates. Although, there are times that I do hold back, like when I answer four questions in a row, then pretend not to know the answer to the fifth. I do this so I don’t come across as being pretentious or annoying.

I generally don’t talk about my grades unless I’m asked by someone else, which is usually along the lines of, “how did you do on the math test?”

People act like I’m so smart and they don’t realize that I’m not the perfect student they think I am…people say, “Oh, you’re so smart” and I tell them I’m not, but I think it makes me look arrogant, even though I really try not to be, I’m just telling them the truth.

Ah, this is the breeding ground for students to announce how smart they are, nice…

If I had decent intelligence, no, I wouldn’t downplay it. If you’re smart, you’re smart! But don’t be a complete jerk about it though. There’s a fine line between confident and being an arse.
