Do you know what college you want to be in?

So the residential college system is awesome. And for the most part, people are randomly assigned to them. But do you all know which college you prefer?

even though we have no control over what college we’ll get in, id love to be in either martel (ive been told that it IS a college lol) or in duncan.

people in martel seem like really down to earth, friendly, funny people.

but that may just be the majority of rice students anyway.

you want to be in will rice, trust me :)

I visited Rice in November, and our tour guide showed us one of the older residential colleges (I think it was Baker). I went to the Admit Day yesterday and saw Duncan, which was amazing and almost the antithesis of the first one I saw, which frankly seemed old and crappy. I know that I most likely won’t get into one of the two new colleges next year, though, and so I’m kinda worried that my dorm won’t be very nice…is this ungrounded?

It was probably Hanszen… Baker is currently under renovation and so is Will Rice.

@sliknik,
i’m pretty sure you gave me my tour. just saying.

you are a tour guide, right?

No, I’m not a tour guide (I think I know who gave you the tour… someone from Cincinnati at Hanszen? I don’t want to reveal his name, but I know who you are talking about. I know him pretty well… he convinced me to come to Rice last year when i was deciding. Strangely enough, my parents and his parents know each other back in Cincy).

No he was a martel guy. I’m pretty sure he was from cincinatti but i could be wrong. He was definitely the best tour guide I’ve had. I didn’t really need much pursuading to come to Rice, but it definitely helped!
