Do you like high school?

For me I guess I'm just tired of the concept of high school - I go to a boarding school far away from home so school is basically life for me, and although there are good moments, I just feel trapped because I really cannot do anything outside of school. GAHH. I am ONLY going to apply to urban colleges. I'm sick of having to constantly deal with people I don't like - I know this will happen all my life, but my school is also small, and I interact with far too many people that I really don't want to. Ahh, sorry for the rant, but I'm not alone, right...

I don't like dealing with people i don't like either.. i actually told my parents to send me to boarding school but as their only child they said no.. oh trust im getting away when im in college.. far away from my parents

My guess is that boarding school is significantly different than attending a public high school. High school is basically life for me, too, though- I think many can relate to that! (Especially for those of us on CC :) ) I happen to go to a huge school with a class of over 800 and I love it.. When you're around more people, there are definitely more people to like! You shold definitely try applying to big schools.

*should not shold

^ what?

(10 char)

Senior slide! Can't wait to get outta here!

I dislike my HS. So tedious indeed. I can't wait to get out, either!

I used to really really like my giant high school, but now that I'm doing dual enrollment in college it kind of feels like a prison when I get back. There's security guards at the doors who ask you why you're leaving, the teachers treat you like a child, and the food....well that doesn't even begin to compare.

What I love about college is that it's so free. The campus is HUGE, and my classes get done early. Last semester I started at 8AM on M,W,F and 10 T,Th and got done at noon. It was perfect....lunch with friends....catching up on some of the studying.....just basically being able to manage your own time. I could come when I wanted, go when I wanted, which is what I really love.

Also unless you're in a really small class no one glares at you if you text.

High School is ok

Homework. is. NOT.

I hate high school because it's hard to find people who are like you even though my school is humongous. It still remains very clique-y. High school is just not the place made for someone to find life long friends (except sugar_sweet!!). Yeah I feel miserable at high school. I cannot wait to leave...

I hate everything about high school, except a handful of teachers, and a handful of students. The thing that motivates me the most is the fact that one day this will all be a distant memory :)

Am I the only one who feels like they're going to miss high school? I know I'll have more freedom when I'm in college but I'm going to miss being a teenager, having lunch with my friends, laughing at the immature freshman...

I've had so many good times during high school. I'll miss it for sure.
But, bigger and better things is just what I keep telling myself...

It's pretty ironic, that my favorite high school moments were things that were beyond the average everyday school thing. Like everyday opportunities.

ah... i agree... it's senior slide... i hate the boredom... i so hate the missing 'surprise~ surprise!' factor...
can't wait for college!
will miss the friends and family though... also that high schooler status (if there is...)

i miss it now.... sad face and its only been like two months

I generally dislike High School for one major reason; my parents....

so my school has this "portal" website, that shows all your grades, attendence, teacher's comments, future tests/homeworks immediately when your teachers input them into the system.
Obviously because my mom has no life and is logged into this website 24/7, as soon as I get home I get bombarded with
"why did you get a B on your AP Calc test!"
"you were LATE to French!"
"you have an AP Stats test this friday!, it's wednesday, have you even started studying?"

honestly, I hear it for 7+ hours a day from my teachers, when i get home I just wanna relax.

and then there's my dad, he's rarely home because he's always on business trips, but when ever he returns he gets a short briefing by mom on how im doing in school. Which is usually followed by an hour lecture about how I have no motivation and I'm going to be a failure because Im not going to go to an Ivy League school...great.

the worst is how they have totally unrealistic expectations for me. like my dad was searching admissions advice into getting into..... Harvard, i mean c'mon, HARVARD. When I told him I wanted to go to NYU Stern he laughed in my face

sorry I just went on a long rant about my parents, I just endured another lecture last night from my dad. I'm just venting a little.

I just wanna get as far away from home as possible , and completely block myself from my parents. As far as school goes, they're just so completely uninformed about the whole college process, and just school in America in general. (they went to school in Moscow).

It's okay; I liked it a lot until this year, when it just seems like a massive road block between childhood and future.
My school is also kind of the 'boring school' where nothing happens, so it's boring and goes by undoubtably slow.

It's not horrible. My sister despised it, but I don't think its that bad, probably because I don't have any contact with the stupid people in my school. A perk from taking all AP classes. I really just want this year to be over; senior year will hopefully be better.
