<p>Please help! I need info about Eastern University from anyone who knows it, or lives near there. Thank you.</p>
<p>Is this a Christian school in the Philadelphia area? If so, a friend of my daughter's recently graduated, and I can share what I've heard.</p>
<p>D. is getting a big offer, but I am worried about her academics there!</p>
<p>Congratulations on the offer! My d's friend was a psychology major/dance minor who graduated a semester early. She was generally pleased with the academics. She's a serious kid who seemed to lead her mom through homeschooling - did several cc classes in math and science before going to Eastern. She continued as a serious student in college - she's the kind of kid who would make the best of every academic opportunity. She very much liked the service opportunities at Eastern for tutoring, interaction with the surrounding community, etc. - I think she also did summer service projects such as Habitat for Humanity.</p>
<p>I know her parents were frustrated in dealing with the administration several times, especially regarding the financial aid package and added-on fees. </p>
<p>My d's friend was very pleased with the dance opportunities in the area - she danced some with Philadanco, taught classes to younger kids off campus, etc.</p>

<p>go for an overnight visit and liked it. We liked the people there, the campus, the location. All that worries me is the level of acadmics/ the lack of name recognition. Does that sound petty? (Probably not on THIS board!!) But she is a pretty bright girl, and I don't want her to "settle", go unchallenged, etc. But on the other hand, academics aside, everything we have seen looks pretty good.</p>
