Do you look young/old for your age?

I'm 17, a senior. I was getting my hair cut today, and the barber asked "So are you in Middle school, or have you started high school?"

I was completely and utterly surprised. Apparently I look 14, hmm?

Does anyone else look young/old for their age?

I look young for my age.

I look a little young for my age. Can’t really help it though. So I don’t really pay it any mind. -shrug-

I look older if I don’t shave. I think.

When I shave, I look about my age, maybe younger.

I’m 17 too and get 15 all the time.

I think I look exactly my age.

“So, excited about senior year?”
“What… Do I know you?”

I grew really, really fast when I was 10-13, and was the tallest person in my class. Then I stopped growing (5’11") and everybody else caught up. When I was 14 people would ask if I had a license, think I was repeating grades, stuff like that. Now I’m 17 and look normal for my age.

I’ve received mixed responses. Some people think I’m 14, others think I’m 18.

I’m 17, and I could easily pass for 13-14. I still kind of have a “baby face.”

People think I’m a lot older. I was in a suit on a Sunday and in Target and someone came up to me and thought I was the manager… people apparently have mistaken me for a teacher… and when I went to a restaurant with some “business” friends with my dad sitting right beside me the waiter asked if I wanted some beer and he gave me a separate check. Oh, and I showed up to a board meeting of this non-profit organization. After sitting there for over an hour they voted me in. Apparently they thought when I said I was in school they thought I meant as a graduate student (obviously people under 18 can’t be board members of non-profits by law).

I really don’t think I look very old.

I definitely look young. I was the president of the security council at an international conference and my delegates all asked me how I got to be president so young. I was confused because I was a senior. They all thought I was 16. :]

I look older. Not weathered, but a lot of people think I’m at least 21.

When I was at a wedding when I was 14, the bartender gave me a rum & coke cocktail (I had asked for merely Coke). I told I’m 14 & don’t drink, but he may’ve been wasted or something haha:D

I guess that I look older (no full beard or anything lol), since people ask which college I’m in, how I like living away from home, etc. Btw, I’m a rising junior haha. I hope that I don’t look too old, don’t want others to think that I’m like Greg Oden or LeBron James lol :D

^haha, that sounds really funny. Last week people asked me if I worked at a lighting store when I was picking up an order for my mom (I was wearing a polo & khaki pants).

Well, I’ve gotten both. Just tonight, my friend’s dad asked where I was going for college this fall, even though I’m only an incoming junior. But that’s probably because I was hanging out with all seniors, haha. Another incident was my uncle tried to get me into a movie theater for a kids price (11 and under), and the lady actually thought I looked like I might have been 11 or 12, but I’m pretty sure she wasn’t all up there. So really, idk, haha.

For guys, facial hairs make all the differences.

^True, but even when I have shaved (and prior to shaving at all), people have thought me to be older. I guess it depends on the person lol. I kinda have a big head, enhanced by long hair. Maybe that’s why?

What’s my age again?

Young face.

I look older than I am. I’ve never worn make up so people have assumed I was in college since I was about 13 (being 5’11" in 8th grade doesn’t help either).

Younger, I think. Not older though.
