or can you just walk on down to westwood/bev hills/etc for fun?

walking is fine, practically all freshmen do it

kk thanks! so you really wouldn’t need to bring a car to ucla at all right?

lol

10 char

come on, seriously, would you? i know that you need to for usc since it’s at least 15 minutes away from downtown la, but at ucla, if you’re already right there in westwood, would you really need a car?

No, what’s funny is that you make the fundamentally incorrect assumption that it’s even possible to bring a car. Unless you have an off-campus job or a lot of moolah to buy a parking spot from someone, it ain’t happening.

ah ok i didn’t know that. it seems like at most schools you CAN bring a car, if you want to or need to. thanks for the info.

You CAN bring a car to UCLA, provided you have the money to do so. I’m sure the same can be said of similarly popular campuses.

You don’t need a car for westwood, but if you want to go elsewhere, you obviously need a car. Best case if you CANT bring a car is you make friends with people who have cars :).

You could always learn how to ride a bus.

i’d much rather ride the bus, trust me. but isn’t the bus system in la terrible?

It’s not terrible, just slow, but that’s germane to all mass transit. The Big Blue Bus is a good way to get to Santa Monica in lieu of a car and you can take the 720 Rapid to get to downtown via Wilshire.

ok cool, thanks! :)

and mingle with the commoners? no thanks!
