Do you need letters of rec for any UC?

<p>I'm applying to Cal, UCSB, and UCLA soon, and I'm asking professors to write letters of recommendation now. Do I need them for UCs at all? I figured maybe Cal might be different, but I wasn't sure...</p>

<p>Yes. They don’t ask for or want any, unless you are explicitly told otherwise by the admissions office.</p>

<p>99.9% of the time, UC’s won’t ask for letters of recommendations.
Only private schools.</p>

<p>If you are a Regents candidate, you can make use of the letters. At least for Berkeley, I don’t know about the rest.</p>
