Hey guys. In high school I took Alg 1-->Geometry--->Alg 2-->Statistics. I placed into Applied Calculus for college but don't know if I should do that or PreCalc. I've heard PreCalc isn't really needed for Applied calc, is that true? Or will I be in way over my head?
Thanks so much

Pre Calc is an ambiguous name for a class, but in my high school we were taught stuff like trigonometry and went deeper into exponential functions, logarithms, etc. All of that is used all the time in Calculus so it’s helpful. Algebra is used all the time and it will be where you make the most mistakes.

Applied Calculus? What is that? Like the super watered down version?

Calculus is easy and the textbooks are pretty standard. When I took precalculus, it was half college algebra and half trigonometry. If you feel like you would benefit more from that by enrolling in it, go ahead. I’d refresh your algebra 2 if it’s been a while for calculus.
